21 February 2011 - Looking for foster carers - ongoingThe Society for Abandoned Animals are looking for experienced rabbit owners to help care for rabbits requiring either ongoing medical treatment or needing that extra bit of TLC. We feel that foster carers can provide that extra special one on one care for our rabbits and help them on the road to a speedy recovery Foster care required will either be short term (weeks) or long term (months) depending upon rabbit/s particular needs and personal circumstances of foster carer. If you feel you would like to help you must :- - be/ have been an experienced rabbit owner - have a spare indoor room for fostering away from any of your own pets - have your own rabbits vaccinated for myxomatosis and VHD - be able to give rabbit/s 5 hours exercise outside their cage per day - be withing 30 miles or 30 minutes drive from the sanctuary in Sale, Manchester or our vets in Whalley Range, Manchester - be able to trasnsport rabbit/s to and from vets for routine appointments or emergency medical care - be able to handle rabbits safely and securely - be able to bathe eyes/ wounds/ other injuries (for sick rabbits only) - be able to give oral medication and ideally injectable drugs (for sick rabbits only) We will provide :- - an indoor rabbit cage - food/ readigrass/ hay/ bowls - all medication prescribed by our vet and detailed medical plan - full veterinary care for rabbit/s at our own vets in Whalley Range, Manchester - emergency veterinary care where required If you feel you might be able to help please contact saarabbitfoster@hotmail.co.uk
